Hurt

Life isn’t always so rosy and gay

We sometimes get hurt in a horrible way

The gloom and the darkness that stick to our sides

We veil ourselves cloaked behind shadows we hide

No one can tell from the face we portray

We create a mask on display every day

You must keep on looking to find a way out

For someone to challenge your fear and your doubt

Break down those defences you’ve built up so strong

And soften the edges of all that is wrong

Just take tiny steps there’s a long way to go

Keep seeking you’ll get there, I’ve been there, I know.
